Handy Windows Symbol Font

I’ve been writing a WPF program as of late and have found myself needing icons for the usual menu/toolbar operations. Usually, I reach for the icon package that use to ship in Visual Studio.

Icons are nice but they have their issues, especially with scaling on newer high-resolution systems. A scalable vector rendering is preferred. Fortunately, there’s a nice symbol font available from Microsoft called the Segoe UI Symbol font.

Here’s a partial list.

Unlike Dingbats, most of the symbols are things you want to add to your program.
