Microsoft: IE8 to support standards from the start

Microsoft has announced that its planned standards compatibility mode will the default. Earlier proposals required a special meta tag inserted into the Web page to force IE8 into the standards compatibility mode. Public out cry has apparently forced Microsoft to change its plans.
